What it measures: Whether your processes are stable and documented enough to be improved with AI
This dimension surprises most executives. You can't use AI to optimize processes that are chaotic, undocumented, or constantly changing. AI works best when it augments stable, repeatable processes. If your current process varies wildly by person, location, or day of the week, AI will amplify that chaos, not solve it.
How to assess it:
Pick a process you want to optimize with AI. Ask: Is it documented? Does everyone follow the same steps? Can we measure current performance? If the answer to any question is "no," fix the process before adding AI.

The Reality Check: When to Say "Not Now"
